Installing the fonts Chords and Scales
1. Installing the fonts Chords and Scales on macOS
a) Chords · Chords VI
- quit all applications.
- open the folder Chords and Scales > Chords > Chords font - macOS.
- double-click the font files Chords-Normal.otf, Chords-Nut.otf, Chords-Dot.otf, ChordsVI-Normal.otf, ChordsVI-Nut.otf and ChordsVI-Dot.otf.
- follow the on screen prompts in the Font Book application included with macOS.
- the fonts will be installed in the folder /Library/Fonts.
b) Scales · Scales VI
- quit all applications.
- open the folder Chords and Scales > Scales > Scales font - macOS.
- double-click the font files Scales-Normal.otf, Scales-Nut.otf, Scales-Dot.otf, ScalesVI-Normal.otf, ScalesVI-Nut.otf and ScalesVI-Dot.otf.
- follow the on screen prompts in the Font Book application included with macOS.
- the fonts will be installed in the folder /Library/Fonts.
c) Chords and Scales Libraries
Unzip the file Chords and Scales Library.zip and move the folder Chords and Scales Library to your Documents folder.
2. Installing the fonts Chords on iOS 7 and later (applies to the fonts Scales resp.)
- open the email with your order confirmation in Mail.app on your iOS device.
- find Note on installing Chords for iOS:
- tap the link and follow the installation instructions.
Note on installing the fonts on iPadOS and iOS 12.2 or later
- open the email with your order confirmation in Mail.app on your iOS device.
- find Note on installing Chords for iOS/iPadOS:
- tap the link
- you'll see the message "This website is trying to download a configuration profile". Tap Allow.
- close the following message "Profile Downloaded".
- open the Settings app on your mobile device..
- tap "Profile Downloaded" (right above Airplane Mode) and follow the instructions.
The fonts
- Chords Normal
- Chords Nut
- Chords Dot
- Chords VI Normal
- Chords VI Nut and
- Chords VI Dot
3. Removing and upgrading the fonts Chords on macOS (applies to the fonts Scales resp.)
Before upgrading the fonts Chords on macOS, remove the existing font files:
- quit all applications
- open the Font Book application
- select All Fonts in the Collection column
- select Chords in the font column
- in the Font Book menu choose File > Remove "Chords" Family
- to upgrade follow the installation instructions above (see 1.)
4. Deleting and upgrading the fonts Chords on iOS 7 and later (applies to the fonts Scales resp.)
Before upgrading the fonts Chords on your iOS/iPadOS device, delete the existing profile:
- quit all apps
- go to Settings/General/Profiles/Chords → Tap Delete Profile and follow the instructions.
- to upgrade follow the installation instructions above (see 2.)
